Here's our MARK!

Abbi Thio 10yo, originally uploaded by xterlim.
Finally I'd submitted 82 pieces of artwork created by my students including ourselves! Too bad James and Augustine were absent as they couldn't meet the dateline. Nevertheless, I will try to get more fun art activities and projects for my little artists! Once again, I want to thank YOLO - Edna and Kevin Thio for rewarding each artist a free T-Shit for their contribution! Here's our participation! We'd lots of fun working on these dots! ;p I'd even recorded the sound of their working markers! I'm sure the children were enjoying themselves during the dotting session!

12yo Evangelyne "nags"...

After a week from PSLE, Evangelyn came back to do her dots work... during her working process, she was full of complains! The funny thing was, Siaosiang stopped "humming" when she was nagging... and Claire was doing her work quietly as usual... Well, we just let her nagged... probably, it's the only time to release her stress from her PSLE exam ;)

4yo Shayna says...

4yo Shayna refused to colour the gaps that she told me she was going to, then I put my hands on my waists and looked at her, and she went, " Teacher Esther, are you pretending to be angry??!!" Gosh, I didn't expect she would said that! I told her, " Yes, Teacher is very angry if you don't do your work properly," "Oh yes Teacher Esther, you are pretending to be angry! Hehehe!" When I show her how others did their work, there she followed :) Oh Shayna ah Shayna :s

Channel U interview Teacher Esther Today!

Channel U came and interviewed Teacher Esther today! I was pretty nervous at first but I realised I was not!? Because my mind was with my students' art making in the class! They came in when my class just started, so it was kind of multi- tasking for me. Mr Chew (TCS actor) came and interviewed me, he's the host or producer of the show. He helped me a lot in Mandarin speaking program, and interpret my meanings in more proper sentences... thanks to him else I would rather be speaking English instead! ;p Well, lots of NG, but luckily Mr. Chew and his cameramen were very patience :p Hee... My lucky students are going to be in the show too! Catch them on 6th Nov08 @ Channel U 9.30pm program called Xiao Xiao Yi Shu Jia!

Bedroom Lamp 2008

A dreamy and magical lamp for their bedroom, this artwork allow them to express their imagination on the lamp and something to de-stress from hectic school and homework when it is bedtime. They took 3 lessons to complete this lamp making from sketching, tracing and makers-rendering :) Thanks to Uncle Joeel for help to assemble the bulbs and switches for the students :) Too bad, Yong Rui was absent on that day, else he will be in the photo! ;p

Art Chair 2008

A major project for this advance level class. They took estimated about 2 months in a length to complete a chair making (minus the days which I took MC and their absent for the lessons). They did a great job with just using old newspapers (only) to build their art chairs. I remember how Rachel brought the old newspapers by a pulling luggage bag and how Yanping stained his favorite dolphine printed T-shirt when he was painting his Thinking Chair...We really had a great time making these chairs :)
